Overview

SBK011 is a standardized, ready-to-use oral glucose solution developed by Chengdu Shibeikang Biomedical Technology for use in the Oral Glucose Tolerance Test (OGTT). Traditionally, the OGTT requires the manual dissolution of 75 grams of anhydrous glucose powder in water, a process that can be prone to variability in concentration and may cause patient discomfort or nausea. SBK011 is designed as a pre-formulated alternative to improve the consistency of the diagnostic challenge, enhance patient preference, and ensure safety. It is primarily utilized in clinical settings to evaluate glycemic response and insulin secretion for the diagnosis of impaired glucose tolerance and type 2 diabetes mellitus. Clinical evaluation, such as trial CTR20261733, has focused on comparing its diagnostic accuracy and tolerability against the traditional glucose powder method in healthy volunteers and individuals with impaired glucose tolerance.
