Drug intelligence / Profile preview
SBK013 is an orally bioavailable small molecule inhibitor of Coagulation Factor XIa (FXIa) developed by Chengdu Shibeikang Biotechnology. It is designed for the prevention and treatment of arteriovenous thromboembolic diseases. By selectively targeting FXIa, SBK013 inhibits the intrinsic pathway of the coagulation cascade, which is hypothesized to provide effective antithrombotic activity with a significantly lower risk of bleeding compared to traditional anticoagulants that target the common pathway, such as Factor Xa inhibitors or direct thrombin inhibitors. The drug is currently in early-stage clinical development, with Phase 1 trials evaluating its safety, tolerability, and pharmacokinetic profile in healthy volunteers.
