Overview

SBO-154 is a humanized antibody-drug conjugate (ADC) developed by Sun Pharma Advanced Research Company (SPARC) for the treatment of advanced solid tumors. It specifically targets the SEA domain of the tumor-associated antigen MUC1, a glycoprotein broadly expressed on the surface of many carcinomas. SBO-154 binds with high affinity to the MUC1 SEA domain, which is less prone to shedding than other MUC1 regions, and delivers a cytotoxic payload, disrupting microtubules and inhibiting cell division after internalization and cleavage inside tumor cells. The cytotoxic payload and linker are clinically validated components used in several marketed ADCs. The anti-MUC1 antibody component was licensed from Biomodifying, a startup at the University of Tel Aviv. SBO-154 is currently in phase 1 clinical trials for advanced solid tumors[3][4][5][6][7][10].
