Overview

SBS-147 is an investigational, first-in-class small molecule analgesic developed by Sparian Biosciences. It is an oral arylepoxamide receptor (AEAr) agonist designed for the treatment of acute and chronic pain. AEArs are a newly discovered class of receptors distributed throughout the brain and spinal cord, believed to modulate pain signaling and perception. Preclinical studies suggest that arylepoxamides like SBS-147 provide potent analgesia without typical opioid-related side effects such as respiratory depression, physical dependence, or abuse liability. SBS-147 represents a next-generation advancement over its predecessor, SBS-1000 (an IV/SC formulation), with development focused on enabling oral administration for broader clinical utility[1][2][3].
