SBT-106 is a novel cell-penetrating single-domain antibody (sdAb), also known as a nanobody, developed by Singh Biotechnology. It is currently in preclinical development for the treatment of viral infections and has been identified as a potential countermeasure against bioterrorism-related viral pathogens. Utilizing Singh Biotechnology's proprietary platform, SBT-106 is engineered to cross the cell membrane and enter infected cells to inhibit intracellular viral replication. This approach addresses targets that are typically inaccessible to conventional monoclonal antibodies, which are generally restricted to extracellular or cell-surface proteins. By interfering with the internal machinery required for the viral life cycle, SBT-106 represents a new class of biologics designed to provide broad-spectrum or targeted antiviral activity.
