Overview

SC 41930 is a synthetic small molecule that acts as a potent and selective antagonist of the leukotriene B4 (LTB4) receptor. It has demonstrated significant anti-inflammatory effects in preclinical models, including reduction of inflammation in guinea pig models of colonic and middle ear inflammation. The compound’s anti-inflammatory activity is attributed to its antagonism of LTB4 receptors on human neutrophils and other cells, as well as postreceptor inhibition of inflammatory mediator production. SC 41930 has been investigated experimentally for its potential to prevent or reduce adverse events associated with vascular leak syndrome caused by interleukin‑2 therapy, but it has not been approved for clinical use[1][5][6][8].
