Overview

SC-51316 is a selective, orally active, nonpeptidic antagonist of the angiotensin II receptor. It blocks the action of angiotensin II, a key mediator of vasoconstriction and blood pressure regulation. Preclinical studies in rats and dogs demonstrated SC-51316 effectively reduces blood pressure without affecting heart rate, indicating its potential as an antihypertensive agent. The compound is not marketed and is known primarily from pharmacological literature and chemical databases[4][7][8][10].
