SC DERM Recon is an acellular dermal matrix (ADM) biological scaffold developed by DOF Inc. for use in breast reconstruction surgery. It is derived from human skin tissue and processed using a proprietary supercritical carbon dioxide (CO2) technology. This method is designed to effectively remove cellular components and immunogenic materials while maintaining the structural and biochemical integrity of the extracellular matrix (ECM) better than traditional detergent-based methods. In clinical applications, such as implant-based breast reconstruction following mastectomy, the matrix is used to wrap or support the implant, facilitating tissue integration and improving aesthetic results.
