Overview

SC0032 is an investigational oral spray developed by Sensory Cloud for the treatment of refractory chronic cough (RCC) and unexplained chronic cough (UCC). The therapeutic is based on a proprietary salt-based platform designed to stabilize the airway lining fluid (ALF). By delivering a specific ionic formulation (typically involving calcium and sodium salts) to the upper airways, SC0032 aims to enhance the physical integrity of the ALF, thereby reducing the hypersensitivity of airway nerves and suppressing the cough reflex. This mechanism differs from traditional antitussives by targeting the physical environment of the airway rather than specific neural receptors. It is currently being evaluated in Phase II clinical trials to assess its efficacy in reducing cough frequency and improving patient-reported outcomes.
