Overview

SC0062 is a novel and highly selective small molecule antagonist of the endothelin receptor type A (ETA), developed for the treatment of chronic kidney diseases (CKD) including IgA nephropathy (IgAN) and diabetic kidney disease (DKD). It demonstrates high selectivity for ETA over endothelin receptor B (ETB), aiming to reduce proteinuria and slow CKD progression while minimizing side effects such as fluid retention that are associated with non-selective endothelin antagonists. Preclinical studies showed improvement in pathological scores in models of acute kidney injury and CKD. Clinical trials have demonstrated significant reductions in proteinuria with a favorable safety profile. The drug is orally administered and has shown good tolerability and predictable pharmacokinetics[1][3][5][6][8].
