Overview

SC129 is a high-affinity anti-glycan monoclonal antibody developed by Scancell using its proprietary GlyMab® platform. It specifically targets sialyl-di-Lewisa (sLea), a carbohydrate antigen (glycan) that is frequently overexpressed on the surface of various solid tumors, particularly those of the gastrointestinal tract and pancreas. The antibody demonstrates high selectivity, binding to approximately 74% of pancreatic tumors, 50% of gastric cancers, and 36% of colorectal cancers, with minimal binding to normal tissues. In October 2022, Scancell entered into a worldwide licensing agreement with Genmab, worth up to $624 million, to develop SC129 in multiple therapeutic formats, including antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs), T-cell bispecifics (TCBs), and radio-immunotherapy applications.
