SC187 is a small molecule inhibitor of the Wnt/beta-catenin signaling pathway, specifically designed to disrupt the protein-protein interaction between beta-catenin and the T-cell factor (TCF) family of transcription factors. The Wnt pathway is frequently hyperactivated in various cancers, particularly colorectal cancer, where it drives the expression of genes associated with tumor growth, metastasis, and chemoresistance. By preventing the formation of the beta-catenin/TCF transcriptional complex, SC187 inhibits the activation of downstream oncogenic targets such as c-Myc and Cyclin D1. Developed by Suncadia Biopharmaceuticals, SC187 has shown significant anti-tumor activity in preclinical models and is being investigated for its potential to treat Wnt-dependent malignancies.
