Drug intelligence / Profile preview
SC1901 is a monoclonal antibody developed by Scancell using its proprietary GlyMab platform, which is designed to generate high-affinity antibodies against tumor-associated glycan antigens. SC1901 specifically targets **Fucosyl-GM1** (Fuc-GM1), a ganglioside that is highly and specifically expressed on the surface of small cell lung cancer (SCLC) cells, with very limited expression in normal tissues. The antibody is engineered using Scancell's AvidiMab technology, which enhances the potency of the antibody by increasing its avidity and ability to induce direct cell death and immune-mediated destruction through antibody-dependent cellular cytotoxicity (ADCC) and complement-dependent cytotoxicity (CDC). SC1901 is currently in preclinical development as a targeted immunotherapy for SCLC and potentially other solid tumors.
