Overview

**SC401B** is an investigational oral omega-3-acid ethyl ester product developed by Sancilio for severe hypertriglyceridemia. It contains ethyl esters of eicosapentaenoic acid and docosahexaenoic acid, together with surfactants intended to improve absorption in both fasted and fed states. In a registered Phase 3 trial, SC401B was evaluated at daily doses of two, four, or six capsules for lowering triglycerides in people with baseline triglyceride concentrations of 500 to 2,000 mg/dL; the study was withdrawn.
