Drug intelligence / Profile preview
SC75741 is a potent, small-molecule inhibitor of the NF-κB signaling pathway and the tyrosine kinase c-Abl. It acts by impairing the DNA-binding activity of the NF-κB subunit p65 (RelA) without affecting its phosphorylation, nuclear translocation, or IκBα degradation. Originally developed by 4SC for the treatment of viral infections (such as influenza) and inflammatory conditions, SC75741 has also been shown to promote the clearance of pathogenic protein aggregates (such as TDP-43 and SOD1) in models of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) by inhibiting c-Abl and enhancing autophagy via the transcription factor EB (TFEB) pathway.
