Drug intelligence / Profile preview
SCAI-001 is an investigational ophthalmic formulation of cyclosporine A, developed as eye drops at concentrations of 0.01% and 0.02%. It is being evaluated for the treatment of dry eye disease (DED). Cyclosporine A acts as a calcineurin inhibitor, suppressing T-cell activation and reducing ocular surface inflammation associated with DED. SCAI-001 has been compared to Restasis (cyclosporine 0.05%) in clinical trials to assess its safety and efficacy in patients with dry eye disease[1][5][6].
