Overview

SCB-2023 is a trivalent recombinant SARS-CoV-2 spike (S) protein subunit vaccine candidate developed as a booster for COVID-19. It is designed using Clover Biopharmaceuticals' Trimer-Tag technology platform and targets multiple variants of SARS-CoV-2 by presenting stabilized trimeric S-proteins from different strains. The vaccine is administered via intramuscular injection and aims to elicit broad neutralizing antibody responses against circulating COVID-19 variants. Clinical studies are comparing its immunogenicity and safety profile to the earlier monovalent prototype, SCB-2019[1][5][8].
