Drug intelligence / Profile preview
SCB01A is a novel small molecule anti-microtubular agent classified as an aroylindole derivative. It acts primarily as a tubulin polymerization inhibitor, disrupting microtubule dynamics within cells. In addition to its direct cytotoxic effects on tumor cells by inhibiting cell division, it exhibits vascular disrupting activity—targeting and damaging the blood vessels that supply tumors. This dual mechanism confers antineoplastic (anticancer) properties. The drug has been evaluated in phase I and II clinical studies for advanced solid tumors and head and neck cancer[1][3][4][5][6][8].
