scFv-FrC is a patient-specific DNA fusion vaccine designed for the treatment of multiple myeloma. It encodes a fusion protein comprising a tumor-derived single chain variable fragment (scFv), which represents the tumor-specific idiotype (Id), linked to fragment C (FrC) of tetanus toxin. The vaccine aims to induce Id-specific T-cell and antibody responses, with FrC serving as an immune alert signal to enhance the overall immunological response against the myeloma cells. It was developed by researchers at the University of Southampton and University of Bristol.
