SCI-210 is a proprietary oral drug candidate developed by SciSparc that combines cannabidiol (CBD) with CannAmide, the company’s formulation of palmitoylethanolamide (PEA). The therapy is designed to leverage the so-called “entourage effect,” where PEA enhances the efficacy and safety profile of CBD. SCI-210 aims to alleviate symptoms associated with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) in children and adolescents, as well as potentially treat status epilepticus (SE) and other neurological conditions. Preclinical studies suggest that combining sub-effective doses of CBD with PEA may provide greater neuroprotection, reduce seizure severity, lower mortality rates compared to CBD monotherapy, and minimize adverse effects by allowing for lower effective doses of CBD. The drug is currently being evaluated in a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled Phase 2 clinical trial in Israel for ASD[1][2][3][4][5].
