Sclemoxi-KT

Sclemoxi-KT is a fixed-dose combination ophthalmic formulation developed and marketed by SCLERA Health Care. It contains moxifloxacin, a fourth-generation fluoroquinolone antibiotic, and ketorolac tromethamine, a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID). The product is designed for topical ophthalmic administration to treat or prevent bacterial ocular infections and manage associated pain and inflammation, particularly in the context of ophthalmic surgery such as cataract extraction. Moxifloxacin exerts its antibacterial effect by inhibiting DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV, which are essential for bacterial DNA replication and transcription. Ketorolac provides analgesic and anti-inflammatory effects by inhibiting the cyclooxygenase enzymes (COX-1 and COX-2), thereby reducing the synthesis of prostaglandins in ocular tissues.
