SCLnow 19# is an investigational cell therapy product consisting of human umbilical cord-derived mesenchymal stem cells (UC-MSCs), developed by Sclnow Biotechnology Co., Ltd. It is specifically designed for the treatment of spinocerebellar ataxia (SCA), including types 1, 2, 3, and 6. The therapy is administered through a combination of intravenous infusion and intrathecal injection. SCLnow 19# is thought to exert its therapeutic effects through multiple mechanisms, including the secretion of neurotrophic factors, immunomodulation, and the promotion of neuronal survival, with a particular focus on protecting cerebellar Purkinje cells from degeneration. It is currently being evaluated in Phase 2 clinical trials to assess its safety and efficacy in improving balance and coordination in patients with these hereditary neurodegenerative disorders.
