Drug intelligence / Profile preview
SCM-010 is a cell therapy product consisting of adipose-derived expanded mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs), developed by Stem Cell Medicine. It is specifically designed for intrathecal administration to treat secondary progressive multiple sclerosis (SPMS). The therapeutic rationale is based on the ability of MSCs to secrete immunomodulatory factors and neurotrophic agents that can cross the blood-brain barrier more effectively when delivered directly into the cerebrospinal fluid, potentially reducing neuroinflammation and promoting remyelination or axonal protection in patients with advanced MS.
