Drug intelligence / Profile preview
SCN-104 is a drug-device combination product consisting of dihydroergotamine (DHE) mesylate delivered via a proprietary, multi-dose, disposable injection pen. Developed by Scienture Holdings (formerly TRxADE HEALTH) through its subsidiary Scienture, LLC, it is being developed via the 505(b)(2) regulatory pathway for the acute treatment of migraine headaches (with or without aura) and cluster headache episodes. The device is designed for subcutaneous self-injection, featuring a lower injection volume and shielded needles compared to traditional ampoule-based administration. SCN-104 acts as an agonist at serotonin 5-HT1D receptors to provide rapid relief of headache symptoms by inducing vasoconstriction and inhibiting neurogenic inflammation.
