Overview

**SCO-116** is a novel small molecule that selectively activates nuclear factor erythroid 2-related factor 2 (**NRF2**) by non-covalently inhibiting its interaction with Kelch-like ECH-associated protein 1 (**KEAP1**), thereby stabilizing NRF2 and inducing antioxidative and anti-inflammatory responses. Originated by **SCOHIA PHARMA**, it is available in oral and injectable formulations with a favorable safety profile demonstrated in preclinical toxicity studies in rats and monkeys. SCO-116 targets oxidative stress-related diseases across multiple organs, with licensing deals enabling **Kuria Therapeutics** to develop topical ophthalmic (as **KTX-1161**) and dermal formulations for eye and skin diseases, while **SCOHIA** retains rights for systemic uses in kidney, liver, and lung conditions.[1][2][3][4]
