Drug intelligence / Profile preview
This is an equine-derived scorpion antivenom developed and manufactured by Vins Bioproducts Limited. It is a polyclonal immunoglobulin preparation derived from the purified plasma of healthy horses that have been hyperimmunized against the venom of dangerous scorpion species. The antivenom works by providing passive immunity through equine polyclonal antibodies that bind to and neutralize scorpion venom toxins, thereby preventing systemic toxicity and managing the clinical effects of scorpion envenomation. It is administered via injectable routes, typically intravenous or intramuscular, and has been part of the Vins Bioproducts portfolio since 2010.
