Overview

SCRI-E2CAR_EGFRtv1 is a genetically modified chimeric antigen receptor T cell therapy designed to target cancer cells labeled with fluorescein. In the treatment process, a patient's T cells are collected through apheresis, genetically modified to express receptors that recognize fluorescein (FITC-E2), and then reinfused into the patient. These modified CAR T cells work in combination with UB-TT170, a folate-fluorescein agent that attaches to tumor cells and acts as a flag to attract the CAR T cells. When the CAR T cells recognize the labeled tumor cells, they can attack and kill them. This therapy is being investigated for refractory or recurrent osteosarcoma.
