Drug intelligence / Profile preview
SCT-520FF is a Fab fragment biologic drug that acts as an inhibitor of vascular endothelial growth factor A (VEGF-A). It is being developed primarily for the treatment of neovascular (wet) age-related macular degeneration (nAMD), a condition characterized by abnormal blood vessel growth in the retina leading to vision loss. The drug’s mechanism involves blocking VEGF-A, thereby inhibiting angiogenesis and reducing pathological blood vessel formation in the eye. SCT-520FF was initially developed by Sinocelltech Group and is currently in Phase 1/2 clinical trials, with Shenzhou Cell Engineering also involved in its development and manufacturing[1][4][5].
