Drug intelligence / Profile preview
SD-101 + ribavirin is an experimental combination therapy consisting of SD-101, a synthetic CpG oligonucleotide and Toll-like receptor 9 (TLR9) agonist, and ribavirin, a broad-spectrum antiviral small molecule. SD-101 is designed to stimulate innate immune responses through TLR9 activation, promoting antiviral and immunomodulatory effects. Ribavirin inhibits viral RNA synthesis and viral mRNA capping through multiple mechanisms. This combination was explored for its potential to enhance antiviral efficacy in chronic hepatitis C by combining direct antiviral effects (ribavirin) with immune system priming (SD-101)[6][8].
