SDGR4 is a small-molecule hypoxia‑inducible factor 2 alpha (HIF‑2α) inhibitor discovered using Schrödinger’s computational platform and originally co‑developed with Bristol Myers Squibb for oncology indications, particularly genetically defined cancers such as renal cell carcinoma. By selectively blocking HIF‑2α, a transcription factor that drives tumor adaptation to hypoxia and promotes angiogenesis and cell survival, SDGR4 was intended to suppress growth and survival of HIF‑2α–dependent tumors. The program remained in the discovery/preclinical stage and was later discontinued after Bristol Myers Squibb returned the rights to Schrödinger.[1][5][7][15][17]
