SDP-133

SDP-133 is a novel ophthalmic formulation of bimatoprost developed by Sun Pharma Advanced Research Company (SPARC) and Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Limited for the treatment of open-angle glaucoma and ocular hypertension. Bimatoprost is a synthetic structural analog of prostaglandin with ocular hypotensive activity. It mimics the effects of naturally occurring prostamides and acts as an agonist at the prostaglandin F (FP) receptor. This action increases the outflow of aqueous humor through both the trabecular meshwork and uveoscleral pathways, effectively lowering intraocular pressure (IOP). SDP-133 was evaluated in Phase 3 clinical trials (such as NCT03927443) to compare its efficacy and safety against the reference product Lumigan 0.01%.
