Drug intelligence / Profile preview
SE-1 antibody-conjugated mesenchymal stem cell exosomes is an engineered exosome-based therapeutic platform being developed by researchers at Yonsei University Wonju College of Medicine for the treatment of liver fibrosis. The platform utilizes human mesenchymal stem cell (MSC)-derived exosomes that are surface-modified with polyethylene glycol (PEGylation) to extend systemic circulation and conjugated with anti-SE-1 antibodies. The SE-1 antibody specifically targets CD32b (FcγRIIb), a cell surface receptor highly expressed on differentiated liver sinusoidal endothelial cells (LSECs). By actively homing to LSECs, these engineered exosomes deliver anti-inflammatory, anti-fibrotic, and regenerative signals directly to the hepatic sinusoidal endothelium, addressing the delivery limitations of native exosomes and offering a potential precision therapy for liver fibrosis.
