In the context of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), SBPO is researched for its potent anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. Recent breakthroughs have focused on enhancing its therapeutic efficacy through nanoemulsion formulations, such as those stabilized with sodium caseinate and Salecan β-glucan conjugates. These formulations are designed to overcome SBPO's inherent instability and bitterness while providing colon-targeted delivery.
