Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Sebasorb is an over-the-counter (OTC) topical lotion developed and marketed by Summers Laboratories for the treatment of oily skin and sebum control. The formulation contains two active components: attapulgite, a natural clay-based mineral that functions as a high-capacity oil absorbent, and 2% salicylic acid, a beta-hydroxy acid (BHA) that acts as a keratolytic agent. Salicylic acid promotes the exfoliation of dead skin cells and helps to clear pores, while attapulgite absorbs excess surface sebum to reduce shine, particularly in the T-zone. Sebasorb is designed to dry clear and is typically used up to three times daily for the management of acne-prone and excessively oily skin.
