Second generation inactivated COVID-19 vaccine

The **Second generation inactivated COVID-19 vaccine** (also known as the Second Generation Inactivated COVID-19 Vaccine Against Delta Variant Strain) is an inactivated whole-virion vaccine candidate developed by AIM Vaccine Group (specifically through its subsidiary Rong'an Bio) in collaboration with the Zhejiang Provincial Center for Disease Control and Prevention. The vaccine is formulated using an inactivated SARS-CoV-2 Delta variant strain (B.1.617.2, strain SARS-CoV-2/Vero/LXG/2021/ZJ28) grown in Vero cells and adjuvanted with aluminum hydroxide. It is designed to elicit a robust humoral and cellular immune response, producing high titers of neutralizing antibodies against the Delta variant as well as cross-protection against other SARS-CoV-2 variants of concern. The vaccine is administered via intramuscular injection and is currently under preclinical and clinical development for the prevention of COVID-19.
