Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Sedes Hi-G (also marketed as Sedes High G) is an approved over-the-counter (OTC) combination analgesic and antipyretic granule formulation developed and marketed by Shionogi Healthcare in Japan. It is indicated for the rapid relief of severe pain, including headaches, toothaches, menstrual pain, and neuralgia, as well as for reducing fever. The formulation contains four active ingredients: isopropylantipyrine (a pyrazolone-class non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug that inhibits cyclooxygenase enzymes), acetaminophen (a centrally acting analgesic and antipyretic), allylisopropylacetylurea (apronal, a mild ureide sedative that enhances the analgesic effect), and anhydrous caffeine (an adenosine receptor antagonist that acts as an adjuvant to boost pain relief and counteract drowsiness).
