Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Sedorrhoide is an over-the-counter (OTC) consumer health product developed by Cooperation Pharmaceutique Francaise (Cooper) for the symptomatic relief of hemorrhoidal crises. It is a multi-ingredient combination therapy containing four active substances: benzocaine, a local anesthetic that provides rapid pain relief; enoxolone (glycyrrhetinic acid), an anti-inflammatory agent that reduces swelling and irritation; esculoside, a vasoprotective agent that improves capillary resistance; and dodeclonium bromide, an antiseptic. Indicated for the short-term treatment of pain, itching, and burning sensations associated with hemorrhoids, the product is available in rectal cream and suppository formulations. It is classified under the ATC code C05AAX03 for topical treatment in proctology and is widely marketed in France.
