Sekiren B2

Sekiren B2 is a functional food and nutraceutical ingredient developed by Adaptgen Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd., derived from the succulent plant *Echeveria glauca* (commonly referred to as Sekirenka or Stone Lotus). It is specifically intended to modulate glucose metabolism by inhibiting the absorption of glucose in the small intestine, which helps to suppress the rise in post-meal blood glucose levels. The ingredient has been evaluated in clinical research, including a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled crossover trial (jRCT1091220179) in Japanese adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus or impaired glucose tolerance. This study utilized an oral glucose tolerance test (OGTT) to assess the efficacy of Sekiren B2 in controlling post-load blood glucose levels. As a botanical functional food material, it is used in the development of supplements aimed at managing blood sugar and preventing lifestyle-related diseases.
