Overview

**SEL-313** is a proprietary gene therapy product candidate developed by Selecta Biosciences (now Cartesian Therapeutics) for rare inborn errors of metabolism, specifically ornithine transcarbamylase (OTC) deficiency. It utilizes Selecta's synthetic vaccine nanoparticle (SVP) technology, particularly SVP-Rapamycin, to induce immune tolerance and enable repeat administration of the gene therapy by mitigating unwanted immune responses and anti-drug antibodies (ADAs). The therapy aims to deliver functional OTC enzyme expression to address the underlying genetic defect in OTC deficiency, a severe urea cycle disorder that can lead to hyperammonemia and neurological damage.[1][3][11][13]
