Selective Brain Penetrant CDK4 Inhibitor is a small molecule inhibitor being developed by Eilean Therapeutics Australia for the treatment of solid tumors. Unlike first-generation CDK4/6 inhibitors which target both CDK4 and CDK6, this agent is designed to be highly selective for CDK4. This selectivity is intended to reduce hematological toxicities, such as neutropenia, which are primarily associated with CDK6 inhibition, potentially allowing for continuous dosing and improved therapeutic outcomes. Furthermore, the molecule is specifically engineered for high brain penetrance, making it a potential candidate for treating primary central nervous system (CNS) tumors or brain metastases from other solid tumors. It is currently in the early stages of development.
