Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Selective mD5 agonist is a brain-penetrant, non-catechol dopamine D1/D5 receptor agonist with a ~100-fold potency shift toward the mouse D5 receptor (mD5) over the mouse D1 receptor (mD1) [P632]. Developed by researchers at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, the compound acts as an affinity-biased full agonist of mD5 with no detectable allosterism [P632]. It was designed as a pharmacological tool to help elucidate the relative in vivo functions of D5 and D1 receptors in rodent models, as the selectivity-determining residues in the ECL2 domain are divergent between D5 and D1 exclusively within the rodent family [P632].
