Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Selen-Activ is a dietary supplement developed by the Diod Plant of Environmental Technology and Eco-Nutrition in Russia, in collaboration with specialists from the Medical Radiological Scientific Center of the Russian Academy of Medical Sciences. The product contains Selexen (selenoxanthene), a unique organic compound where selenium is bound to a xanthene biomolecule, combined with Vitamin C (ascorbic acid). It is designed to provide adaptive antioxidant support: when the body is deficient in selenium, the compound releases selenium to activate selenium-dependent antioxidant enzymes such as glutathione peroxidase; when selenium levels are sufficient, the molecule acts as an independent antioxidant to neutralize free radicals. It is primarily indicated for addressing selenium deficiency, supporting cardiovascular health, and normalizing cholesterol metabolism.
