Self-cross-linking sodium hyaluronate gel (also known as NCH gel) is a bioresorbable, highly viscous adhesion barrier developed by BioRegen Biomedical. Unlike traditional cross-linked hyaluronans that require chemical agents like BDDE, this formulation utilizes a proprietary self-cross-linking technology to achieve a residence time of 1 to 2 weeks in vivo. This duration is specifically engineered to cover the critical period of tissue repair and adhesion formation following surgery. The gel is applied topically to internal tissues during procedures, such as laparoscopic surgery for deep infiltrating endometriosis or ENT surgeries, where it serves as a physical barrier to prevent adjacent tissues from adhering to one another during the healing process.
