Self-crosslinking sodium hyaluronate gel, marketed under the brand name Gong Ankang, is a biocompatible and biodegradable hydrogel designed to prevent intrauterine adhesions (IUA) following uterine procedures such as induced abortion or hysteroscopic surgery. Unlike traditional crosslinked hyaluronate products that rely on chemical crosslinking agents (e.g., BDDE), this formulation utilizes a self-crosslinking technology that enhances safety and biocompatibility by avoiding residual chemical toxicity. The gel acts as a temporary physical barrier that separates injured mucosal surfaces during the critical healing phase, preventing the formation of fibrous bands. Additionally, the sodium hyaluronate component interacts with cell surface receptors to modulate inflammation and support tissue repair, thereby promoting the recovery of uterine function.
