Selicrelumab is a fully human monoclonal antibody that acts as an agonist of the CD40 antigen receptor. By binding to CD40 antigen, which is expressed on various immune cells including dendritic cells and B cells, selicrelumab mimics the action of the endogenous CD40 ligand (CD40L or CD154). This interaction stimulates immune activation and enhances antigen presentation, leading to increased T-cell mediated antitumor responses. Selicrelumab has been investigated primarily for its immunostimulatory and antineoplastic activities in solid tumors such as pancreatic cancer and non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. The drug was developed by Roche in collaboration with academic partners including Abramson Cancer Center of the University of Pennsylvania and Lymphoma Academic Research Organisation[1][3][5][8].
