SelK2 is a humanized monoclonal antibody that targets P-selectin glycoprotein ligand 1 (PSGL-1). By binding PSGL-1 with high affinity and specificity, it blocks the interaction of PSGL-1 with both P-selectin and L-selectin as well as its ability to bind chemokines. This inhibition prevents the extravasation of inflammatory cells into tissues, thereby reducing inflammation. The drug is being developed primarily for inflammatory diseases such as asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), where it has shown reductions in key inflammatory cell types in clinical studies. It has also been investigated for venous thromboembolism and total knee arthroplasty to prevent blood clot formation by decreasing vascular inflammation[1][2][5][7][9].
