selnoflast

Selnoflast (RO7486967) is an orally active, selective, and reversible small molecule inhibitor of the NLRP3 (nucleotide-binding oligomerization domain, leucine-rich repeat and pyrin domain-containing 3) inflammasome. Developed by Genentech, a member of the Roche Group, selnoflast targets the inflammatory cascade by preventing the assembly of the NLRP3 inflammasome complex, thereby inhibiting the maturation and secretion of pro-inflammatory cytokines such as interleukin-1β (IL-1β) and interleukin-18 (IL-18). The drug is primarily being investigated for its potential to reduce vascular inflammation in patients with atherosclerosis who are at high risk for major adverse cardiovascular events (MACE). Additionally, selnoflast has been evaluated in clinical trials for other inflammatory conditions, including ulcerative colitis and Parkinson's disease, demonstrating a broad therapeutic potential across systemic and neuroinflammatory disorders.
