SelPine-TZ

SelPine-TZ is a combination antibiotic injection marketed by Unifaith Biotech, primarily used for treating moderate to severe bacterial infections, including those caused by resistant organisms. It is a fixed-dose combination containing cefepime, a fourth-generation cephalosporin, and tazobactam, a beta-lactamase inhibitor. Cefepime exerts its bactericidal activity by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis through binding to penicillin-binding proteins (PBPs). Tazobactam is added to expand the spectrum of activity against beta-lactamase-producing bacteria by irreversibly inhibiting various beta-lactamase enzymes that would otherwise degrade cefepime. The product is typically available in a 1.125g strength (1000mg cefepime and 125mg tazobactam) for parenteral administration.
