Overview

A personalized cancer vaccine platform consisting of semi-allogeneic fibroblasts transfected with autologous tumor-derived DNA. The fibroblasts serve as a vehicle to express and present tumor-associated antigens (TAAs) to the patient's immune system. The vaccine is lethally irradiated before administration to ensure safety while maintaining immunogenicity. This approach aims to induce a systemic, tumor-specific T-cell response, particularly in patients with non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). The development of this specific vaccine for NSCLC was conducted at the University of Pittsburgh, though the primary clinical trial was terminated.
