Overview

This is an experimental cancer vaccine approach that involves genetically modifying semi-allogeneic fibroblasts (fibroblasts from a partially matched donor or a cell line) by transfecting them with DNA extracted from the patient's own tumor cells. The goal is for these modified fibroblasts to express and present tumor-associated antigens, thereby stimulating the patient's immune system to recognize and attack their cancer cells. This strategy aims to overcome immune tolerance to tumor antigens and induce a specific anti-tumor T-cell response.
